News New Parser Experiment - Collaborative Editing + WIP User Profiles

Hi everyone,

There is a new Parser Experiment now live! Collaborative Editing allows you to edit your skUnity Parser Pastes in realtime with others. This is a very expansive Experiment and does enable you to easily collaborate with others.

I've begun adding User Profiles. Currently, the only way to access them is by clicking a user under the "Connected Users" section of the sidebar when editing with someone. They're still a work in progress but will be fleshed out in the coming weeks.

How to enable it
Go to the skUnity Parser, make sure that you're logged in and then click the Settings cog on the sidebar. Click the Parser Experiments button and you'll see the new Collaborative Editing button. Click that! Once you click Enable Experiment the page will refresh and Collaborative Editing will be enabled.

I'm not seeing anything different...?
Collaborative Editing will only work on your Pastes. So you'll need to head to a Paste...

skUnity API v2 - the official roadmap
Hi everyone,

Last Friday, I posted on the skUnity Discord about the next development project for skUnity; skUnity API v2. I have decided I'll post this thread as an official way of showing what the intentions are, potential release dates and information regarding the DocsAPI.

Just to clarify the naming:
Currently there is the DocsAPI which is accessible via the Docs Admin panel: https://docs.skunity.com/admin/api. DocsAPI is its official name, however, the URL itself and others do refer to it as the skUnity API. To prevent confusion between the two, the new API will be called API v2 and branded as skUnity API (skUAPI/skAPI). The branding also refers to the panel to access API v2. This means that if any other versions of the skAPI are released, it will follow a version order, eg, API v3, API v4.

Intentions for API v2:
A set of new endpoints which include...

Official Change to the Premium Resource requirements

Hi everyone,

Community feedback was that people wanted to have the minimum requirements for posting Premium Resources changed. Specifically, the number of free Resources required before you can post a Premium Resource.

This feedback has been listened to and now implemented as a rule. For transparency, it was first suggested by @BrettPlayMC in this thread. It was based to a staff vote which included Administrators/Developers (4), Moderators (5) and Resource Staff (4). In a 6 vs 0 vote, it was then passed onto the rest of the community for feedback and a vote. This came out as a 28 vs 4 vote.

Thanks,
BaeFell

News [Parser] Shared with me

Hi everyone,

We've rolled out a small update to the Parser which lets you easily view which Pastes have been shared with you! Click the Settings cog to unveil a new button, "Shared with me". Clicking this will let you view a list of usernames of who have shared a Paste with you. Clicking any of those will take you to a list of Pastes which you can view or edit.

Thanks,
BaeFell

News [Parser] Release of Paste Collections

Hi everyone,

We've been working on a small new feature for the Parser; Collections! Collections are an easy way of grouping your pastes together so you can easily find what you're looking for on the Parser.

They're super simple to use. To get started with Collections head over the Parser (https://parser.skunity.com/),
- Click the Cog on the sidebar
- You'll see new a button called "Manage Collections", give that a click - Now you will be able to create and manage all your Collections. Give your Collection a useful name and click Create! (your browser will be refreshed).
- You can now go to a Paste you want to put in that Collection; click the Cog again and will have the option to set its Collection.
- Once you've saved those settings you'll need to refresh to see it locally, but your paste is now in a Collection!
- When viewing My Saves, your Pastes will be grouped together

You can delete and rename your Collections via the Manage Collections page!

News skUnity Docs 2.1 and Docs data reset!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to skUnity Docs, 2.1!

I'd like to introduce you to skUnity Docs 2.1! Codenamed IndexJS and properly released DocsJS, takes the focus of speed to a new level for skUnity Docs. Rather than the server slowly processing everything, the client is now responsible for it which pumps the speed of the docs up quite considerably! Take look at the comparison below of the Docs 2 vs Docs 2.1:

2019-01-07_20-33-07.gif
2019-01-07_20-33-40.gif

Here is what we've done with Docs 2.1 to enjoy:
  • Hugely improved loading system
  • No page refresh when swapping between effects, expressions...
  • Improved mobile design (navigation buttons aren't hidden)
  • A quick and easy way to search (again, no refresh!)
  • Quality of life update to the sidebar to make it feel fresher than ever!
We've worked hard on improving the docs loading as we know it's been an issue for...

News Donation Target: xenForo License

Hi everyone,

As you might or might not be able to tell, skUnity Forums runs on xenForo. We've been using xenForo for sometime now and found it to be a reliable, expandable and easy to work with platform. After moving forums before due to lackluster software, xenForo has been keeping up.

Joey used to provide the xenForo License for us but as he has left MC and the Skript community, we need to get our own! The cost of a license is $160 for the first year with lowered costs for yearly renewal. We are looking at options of getting a reduced first year, but at the moment we're targeting $160.

To donate, please go to https://forums.skunity.com/account/upgrades and scroll to the bottom where you'll see the donation target. There are 3 payment options, $5, $10, and $20. All donations are massively appreciated.

Anyone willing to make a large donation, please contact BaeFell for sponsorship/branding rewards.

Thank you,
BaeFell

Official Feedback on Advent of skUnity

Hi everyone,

This year marked the release of the skUnity Parser and the first time we ran the event called Advent of skUnity. Doing something for the first time is always difficult and with this, we were extremely unsure how to actually run the full event. I do hope that everyone enjoyed it, whether taking part or just watching!

I am now after feedback of the event. What you thought we did well or not so well. I'd like to run this event again next year and possibly do more next year, but without any community feedback I don't know if it'll be a good idea to do it again, or just a waste of time.

Please be honest and provide any suggestions you might have. Discuss on this thread in on the #skunity-meta channel in the Discord.

Thanks,
BaeFell
