Regarding changing inventory item slots upon death

on death of player:
add 1 to {%victim%.deaht}
set the death message to "Your current number of deaths %{%victim%.death}%."
if {%victim%.death} is 1:
set slot 9 of victim's inventory to barraier to be unstealable

I got a syntax error and I don't know why.

pretty sure that isn't proper syntax. did you check what addon is required for it?
