So, using named items in recipes
code_language.skript:
register new shaped recipe for red dye named "&fAlchemical Coal" using popped chorus fruit named "&fPhilosopher's Stone", coal, air, coal, coal, air, coal, air, air
doesn't work. It either works with any item specified - named or not - or doesn't work at all.

Is there any workaround for this? Do I need to use a custom crafting system, or can this easily be done in some way unknown to me?

You can use the TuSKe's recipe manager, it lets you to have recipes with custom items.
