You could do something like "give potion of strong strength to player". Or, if you're feeling more advanced, set a variable to a potion item then customize the NBT as desired (This would allow a highly customized potion but would also be pretty advanced if you haven't worked with /give commands in command blocks before).

Only if you use certain nbt in the expression. You could like save an item with custom nbt in a variable or something for a kit.
