This pops up every so often for some scripts.

Some users who post their scripts put a practically useless terms of use section.
Examples of useless things that are out there:

- You may not edit this script in anyway
- You may not distribute this whether it is original or modified

The thing is, one of the main reasons this website was created was to share scripts and creations with the public. This means that if you upload a script, it is for the community to do whatever they want with it. You can upload it on your own site with your own site rules, but this site is for open-source scripts to share and use.

There's a difference between open-source and rights creators of code have over it and whilst it is extremely difficult to enforce it doesn't mean it's allowed in a legal sense

While we're a platform for users to share content, we cannot stop them from employing their own license. While they couldn't stop you from editing a script or anything else uploaded (just don't tell them, lol), they can stop you from sharing the content. Typically, content you put on the internet comes under all rights reserved and is copyrighted unless it's stated otherwise. If nothing is stated, then it's copyrighted automatically. This means that the scripts public upload are theirs, they legally own them. All Rights Reserved disallows people from re-distributing someone elses content in any form.

As to your point about using your own site - other than granting permission to skUnity to actually have your content on here, we do not force anyone under any license. Open-source content can also be all rights reserved.

Eitherway, it is honestly useless to add the no-edit rule onto your script. As well as this, people also sometimes put "You may not use any mechanisms from this script" which is useless.

Not disagreeing on that point, they cannot stop you from editing a script you've downloaded. I do try and remove stupid clauses about it and have been known to cause arguments when people create stupid T&C's.
