so yeah, just use those two, the first is an event. the second is an effect.

    play sound "ENTITY_SHULKER_HURT" with volume 100 with pitch 2 at player
or did you mean destroying the entity after a short time on the ground?

yes, destroying the entity after a short time on the ground , and create a snowball particle at the item
