How do you make it so the damage animation works on mobs?

This is how it works for players:
    Code (Skript):
    1. show damage animation on loop-entity for all players
    2.
But how do I do it for mobs?
(The code does not work for mobs)

    Is it even possible??

    Code (Skript):
    1. play hurt on loop-entity-2

I don't think there's such thing as a "damage animation". What you can do though is damage the entity by 0 hearts, which "simulates" the hurting of the entity, even though its health didn't change.
